After defeating Arsenal in the League Cup to advance to the final, Liverpool turn their attention back to the Premier League and another away date in London as they head south across the river to take on Crystal Palace knowing nothing less than a win will keep their faint hopes of getting back into the title race alive.
For Palace, meanwhile, their post-Christmas form has been something of a mixed back with Patrick Vieira’s Eagles winning one, drawing one, and losing two in the league while also beating Millwall in the FA Cup to advance to the fourth round of that competition where they will take on lower league outfit Hartlepool.
Liverpool currently sit second in the league, a seemingly insurmountable 12 points back of Manchester City but with two games—including today’s outing against Palace—in hand. Palace are likely safe in mid-table, as they currently sit in 13th place and are nine points clear of Newcastle United and the relegation battle.
