The Nigerian international entered the game as a substitute for Mathias Jense in the 64th minute.
Marking his 8th league appearance for Frank Thomas’s team this season, Onyeka made eight touches and executed three clearances, although he committed two fouls and received a yellow card.
Chelsea squandered several scoring opportunities, and suffered the consequences when Ethan Pinnock scored a powerful header from Mbeumo’s precise cross.
In the dying moments of the match, with Chelsea’s goalkeeper Robert Sanchez up the field for a late corner, Neal Maupay initiated a Brentford counter-attack and set up Mbeumo for the Bees’ second goal.
Chelsea experienced their ninth home defeat of the year due to some subpar finishing.
