The Reds go again on Sunday night
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot told the press today that Cody Gapko sustained a knock in the draw against Everton on Wednesday, meaning the Dutchman is questionable for Sunday’s meeting with Wolves.
Given the fixture congestion this month, it’s possible the Reds will proceed with caution and leave Gakpo out for this one, opening the door for a Darwin Núñez and/or Diogo Jota central striker with Luis Díaz in his preferred position on the wing.
Joe Gomez, who felt something early in Liverpool’s loss against Plymouth Argyle, remains out, as does Tyler Morton.
Though Trent Alexander-Arnold is returning from injury, he played what was allotted to him on Wednesday despite seeming to come in to avoid a second yellow for Conor Bradley. Alexander-Arnold is available for Sunday.
