Nigerian international Gift Monday has embarked on a new chapter in the National Women’s Soccer League, sealing a transfer from the Washington Spirit to Boston Legacy.

The trade package involves $500,000 in transfer threshold funds moving to Washington, along with a 20% sell-on provision entitling the Spirit to a portion of any future transfer fee Boston might receive for the attacker.

The Super Falcons star originally arrived in Washington back in March 2025, making the jump from Spanish outfit UD Tenerife. Over her 48 matches with the Spirit, she proved to be a reliable offensive threat, tallying 12 goals alongside three assists.

Reflecting on her departure, Spirit sporting director James Hocken praised Monday’s contributions, noting how crucial she was to the team’s forward line and their push into the previous season’s NWSL championship playoffs, while wishing her all the best in Boston.
