Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis has been granted a clean slate at Brøndby IF after his anticipated summer exit failed to materialize before the transfer deadline.

The 28-year-old attacker was initially cleared to seek a new club, but a lingering injury sustained during pre-season kept him sidelined for several months and scuppered prospective moves. Brøndby sporting director Julius Ohnesorge had previously confirmed that both the Danish outfit and the former Nottingham Forest and Watford player were actively exploring an amicable parting.

With the transfer window officially shut, Dennis has rejoined first-team training and featured in his first match under newly appointed manager Thomas Nørgaard, appearing in a 1-1 exhibition clash against IK Sirius.

Nørgaard acknowledged that the forward faces a learning curve after spending so much time away from the group, explaining that the coaching staff has provided him with extra guidance to bring him up to speed with the squad’s tactical philosophy. The manager made it clear, however, that Dennis now holds an equal opportunity to fight for a spot in the starting eleven based entirely on his form and dedication.

Dennis, who arrived in January on an agreement running through 2028, tallied one goal across 11 Danish Superliga outings last term. The forward is now focusing on a competitive comeback, with Brøndby scheduled to take on Lyngby on October 11.
