Former Nigeria international and Chief Technical officer of the Nigeria Football Federation Garba Lawal has hailed the Confederation of Africa Football CAF for the adoption of the five substitutes rule ahead of the return of matches for the AFCON qualifiers stressing that this will help teams better manage their squad.
Lawal speaking in a chat with brila.net said it was a necessary move in the light of the spate of injury concerns players have had to go through due to the congestion in fixtures occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic where players went through a long spell of inactivity.
He added that it is good for everyone.
