Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers is facing a dilemma over his future as Feyenoord insists they can’t afford his transfer fee.
Dessers is currently on loan at from KRC Genk of Belgium to the Dutch Eredivisie outfit and the club has the obligation to make his transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Genk has slammed €4m price tag on the striker, but the Rotterdammers still want to sit around the table and negotiate for another price, according to Feyenoord’s Sport Director Frank Arnesen.
“We will like to keep him here, But we cannot cough up four million euros for a player who is not sure of a base place,” Frank Arnesen told Dutch newspapers.
Meanwhile, Feyenoord is still hopeful about Dessers, because the striker is not keen on returning to Genk.
Dessers has been a revelation since joining the Arse Slot’s men. The 27 year old has scored 14 goals in all competitions for the Club.
