The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be desperate to record their first win in a friendly game in five years when they take on the Mambas of Mozambique on Monday (today).
The encounter is billed for the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira, Portugal.
The three-time African champions have endured a barren run in friendly outings for half a decade.
Jose Peseiro’s side recorded seven losses and eight draws in that period.
The Super Eagles came close to ending the streak in their last friendly against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia on Friday but Mohamed Kanno’s late free-kick denied them victory.

Mozambique were held to a 1-1 draw by Angola in their last friendly.
Nigeria have an impressive record against the Mambas.
The West Africans have yet to lose to Mozambique in four meetings- three wins and a draw.
A win in this game will boost the Super Eagles confidence going into next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Crocodiles of Lesotho and Warriors of Zimbabwe.
They will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on November 13, and then travel away to Zimbabwe three days later.
