Former Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel believes with good preparation the Super Eagles can surpass Nigeria’s expectation at the forthcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Nigeria is grouped alongside host Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.
The 34th edition of Africa’s biggest sports event will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, San Pedro, and Korhogo.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Equatorial Guinea in their first game on Monday, January 14, at the Stade Olympique Alassane Quattara, Abidjan.20 Oct 2023.

However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Unuanel stated that the Super Eagles remains one of the favourites to win the trophy.
“I expect a very competitive tournament considering the countries that will grace the game.
“No doubt, the Super Eagles is one of the favourites to win the tournament but with good preparation and calibre of players in our disposal, I want to sound very optimistic that Nigeria can win the trophy.
“With good friendly games organised to help the team understand themselves, I believe Nigeria will come out victorious at the end of the tournament.”
