Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has vowed to speak with Alejandro Garnacho after the young Argentine stormed straight down the tunnel following his early substitution in their dramatic 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town.
Garnacho, recalled to the starting lineup, was surprisingly sacrificed before halftime as Amorim reacted to Patrick Dorgu’s red card.

The decision left the 20-year-old visibly frustrated, and after briefly acknowledging his manager, he marched down the touchline and disappeared into the dressing room.
Amorim downplayed the incident but confirmed he would address it with Garnacho behind closed doors.
“I’m going to talk, obviously, with Garnacho about that,” Amorim said post-match.
“So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”
Tensions Simmer: History Repeating for Garnacho?
The substitution rekindled memories of Garnacho’s previous demotion in December when he and Marcus Rashford were dropped for a crucial 2-1 win over Manchester City.
While Garnacho eventually fought his way back into Amorim’s plans, Rashford did not, leading to his January loan move to Aston Villa.
When asked whether Garnacho’s reaction mirrored the tensions that led to Rashford’s exit, Amorim pushed back:
“You are making a connection with Rashford, right?”
The United boss joked about the wet and cold conditions, before explaining his tactical reasoning for the substitution.
“The thinking was we’d play more in the 5-3-1. I know that is a risk because you are taking one—maybe the only player who has one-against-one pace—but I felt the team was OK in the controlling of the game, almost half-time, then you make the substitution.
“We have to choose someone to go out, we have to think about set pieces also, so it was Garnacho.”
