The Reds will have only a one potential squad change for Chelsea at the weekend
Last Sunday Conor Bradley did not make the squad as he was recovering from a minor fitness issue, but he has returned to training today and could return to the squad to face Chelsea. Arne Slot does tend to be cautious with player fitness so likely won’t risk Bradley given the overall meaninglessness of the match, but the defender might feature:
“He will train with us today, so that’s the first start and let’s see how he does.
“We expect him to be available. I don’t know if that means that he is available to start, but if all goes well today and tomorrow he will probably be in the squad, yeah.”
With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future uncertain, getting more looks at Conor Bradley at right back would certainly seem a priority for the end of the season.
Slot did not provide an update on Joe Gomez’s fitness. The defender has been out following a surgery to repair a hamstring injury, and is still in recovery. At the end of April Slot did suggest that if this recovery goes well and he returns to training soon he could feature near the end of the season.
It seems this weekend’s match is too soon for the Englishman, however.
