Wonder why?
Big news in the football world just in: Arne Slot has been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month for April. Considering Slot lead the Reds to victories against rivals Everton, West Ham United, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur over the course of a month, the nomination is a slam dunk.
That’s 15/15 possible points, a perfect record on the way to finally getting Liverpool that coveted 20th Premier League title. He’s up against Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe, and Vitor Pereira.
Also they don’t give awards for Premier League Class Act Manager of the Month, but in this humble scribe’s opinion, if they did, Slot would run away with that one too.
The first thing he did when the whistle blew to announce their victory against Tottenham Hotspur — and the other 18 teams in the league — was to shout out former manager Jürgen Klopp. The stadium was full of delirious supporters singing his name, but he paid forward the support Klopp showed him at the end of last season.
Somehow there are still four more games left this season, and the next one is this Sunday against Chelsea, where Slot will look to add to their point tally, even after being crowned champions.
