Another rumour joins the fray.
According to DaveOCKOP, who’s been getting his share of Liverpool FC scoops over the past year, Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko. The feeling appears to be mutual as the RB Leipzig striker is reportedly keen on playing for Arne Slot’s side.
The Red Bull-owned club are asking for €100m (£84.2m), although it is believed a lower fee can be negotiated. Leipzig (as well as the wider RB group) and Liverpool obviously have a good relationship, given the amount of the deals that have involved the two parties, and with former manager Jürgen Klopp now Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull.
It’s okay… I guess? Out of the three hot strikers on the market we’ve been linked with— Ekitike, Gyokeres, and Sesko… he’s probably the rawest of the bunch. But if our stat nerds like him, that’s good enough reason for me. €100m seems like a nonsensical starting point with Leipzig completely out of Europe, though I figure that’s just posturing.
