Malawi’s Tabitha Chawinga has been named Africa’s most valuable female footballer, according to Soccerdonna’s latest market valuation, with a staggering £360,000 price tag.

The Inter Milan forward leads an elite list that features her sister, Temwa Chawinga, Asisat Oshoala, and reigning CAF Women’s Player of the Year Barbra Banda.

The Chawinga sisters have continued to dominate women’s football, with Temwa Chawinga, currently playing for Wuhan Jianghan University in China, securing the second position at £300,000.

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala, a six-time African Player of the Year, remains among the most valuable despite turning 30 this year, with a market value of £280,000.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s Barbra Banda, the current African queen of football, follows closely at £275,000.

Four Super Falcons Stars Make the Top 10

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala leads the charge for Super Falcons players, followed by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, who was ranked fifth at £190,000.

The Atlético Madrid winger has established herself as one of Africa’s most consistent performers in European football.

Rachael Kundananji, who recently became the world’s most expensive female footballer with her record €735,000 (£625,000) move to Bay FC in the NWSL, is surprisingly valued at only £175,000, placing her in sixth position.

Ivorian forward Rosemonde Kouassi is seventh with £115,000, while two Nigerian rising stars, Jennifer Echegini and Chiamaka Nnadozie, are both tied in eighth place at £100,000.

Paris FC goalkeeper Nnadozie has been widely recognized as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world, while Echegini, currently at PSG, has seen her stock rise after a stellar season in Italy with Juventus.

Completing the top 10 is another Nigerian, Gift Monday, valued at £80,000.

The Costa Adeje Tenerife forward has been a consistent performer in Spain’s Liga F, earning her place among Africa’s finest.

Nigeria and Malawi Lead the Way

With four Nigerian players on the list, the Super Falcons remain a dominant force in African women’s football.

However, the Chawinga sisters have put Malawi on the global map with their exceptional performances.

Despite being named Africa’s best player in 2023, Barbra Banda’s valuation suggests she still has room for further market growth.

Meanwhile, Kundananji’s surprisingly lower valuation does not reflect her record-breaking transfer to the U.S.

All eyes will be on the upcoming WAFCON 2025 to see the next player to overtake the first position and crowned the new CAF Women’s Player of the Year.
