By now the world knows that Liverpool have completed their first big money transfer of the summer transfer window by acquiring Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen. Excitement has been high to see how the Dutch wingback will perform under Arne Slot and alongside partner Andy Robertson.
The official site has released a vlog following the 24-year-old on his signing day and first days with the club. Watch him go through the fitness assessments (and, if you’re delusional like me, think, ‘huh, I could do that’) and perform his first media duties.
As an aside, what music would you choose if you had to see inside of an MRI machine for an hour like Frimpong did here?
It was heartwarming to see how genuinely thrilled he was to put the shirt on for the first time. He also shows off his kit to his Liverpool supporting family waiting for him, telling his father, “I play for your club” and asking his brother, “Remember when we used to watch LFCTV?”
While no one can truly replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the fans’ hearts, having Frimpong join the club has certainly raised spirits and built anticipation for Liverpool’s title defense next season.
